Applied decoration in the center - using semi-liquid clay and a pastry bag with a round tip (thank you, Martha!) - is dramatically enhanced when light hits the chocolatey glazed surface, complemented by bright yellow petals.
The Frosted Melon glaze is one of the most popular in the studio, with both my students and customers. It breaks golden over the petals' edges, transitioning to a satiny yellow tone shading slightly to green. If you're a traditional sunflower afficianado, this is the sunflower for you!
