Many years ago, a beloved customer challenged me to make a sunflower completely covered with "petals", reminiscent of the annual sunflower cultivar 'Teddy Bear'. Dozens of petals, starting from the largest at the outside margin, working in to a cluster of tiny petals, create a stunning, unique interpretation of a long-time garden favorite.
The Salt Buff glaze, mimicking the results of alternative firing techniques, enhances the fascinating structure. A labor of love.
